From when to when do you want the chronology?

He was living in Bowness (w/ Illu and others), he sold Chromehenge to Rask and Illuminati, he moved to Lake Bonavista, he continued to write his novels, he moved to Vista Heights, continued to write, moved back to Lake Bonavista and he continues to write. Recently he was nominated in the top 10 short stories in a contest that was held by Indigo and the Calgary Sun.

It's weird. When I joined the Chrome scene, J.R. didn't seem to be a factor. I don't think I ever really talked to him. I was fully participating in his BBS, without coming across him. Everyone else seemed to know all about him.. but I never did. Then, there were those few times at the meets when minds clashed, and that was the only impression I had.

He had/has his own people who kept by him. Wandering around wasn't much of a hobby for him. At least as I recall.

I got into BBS i think back in either 86 or 87..
I started on FAN BBS, which i believe was the first multi-line (a whole 2-3 lines) BBS in calgary (least the first i was ever exposed too).

I was on Chatline BBS for awhile, Viewline BBS, Station BBS, Funny Farm BBS, Nuke the Whales BBS, Chrome, Pode & Nucleus BBS.

The first user i ever met was Red Knight, who was the first person to expose me to BBSing...
i sense then met dozens of others and made regular apperances on the BBS's and the Meets.. .pretty much until the Internet became more mainstream and the limitations of BBSing just wasnt appealing...

Some of my best friends were: Rask, Wylde, Arioch, Invictus, Zorkk, Corwin, Shadimir, Maverick, Chloe and several others... most of which i have lost all contact with...

Here's how it all started: one day Molly Millions happened to be at my place. She looked at my Commodore 64 and asked me if I had a modem, so I dug out the old 300 baud modem I'd barely used and plugged it in. She proceeded to geek on Octapode, and gave me the numbers for it and Poopsie (sister to Nuke the Whales).

I got to know some of the people on Octapode, including a certain Stig Nemo who we all know as Jay Random. Now there was this Starlight chic, who was *the ex from hell* (as she is to so very many men) - she told me about this BBS Stig/Jay was starting up and how very cool it was going to be. I dragged my feet for a bit (she was, after all, the ex from hell) but logged on a couple of months after Chromehenge started.

And I got very hooked and it was a very fun community, though I was a bit of an outsider being the second oldest user there (anyone heard from Data?). It was a very hard time for me, and there's a lot that's hard to remember (what year DID Chrome begin?) but Chrome helped as long as I remembered Molly Millions' advice (DON'T POST DRUNK!!) (I'm clean now:)

Don't post drunk? Well gee.. if i'd followed that rule i'd have never posted anything. Although, that could have been a good thing i suppose. I did get into a lot of trouble in public forums.
