Ok I never really thought such things would be required in a community of people where the age range is from like mid-20's to late 30's.. but i might i suggest that maybe in the member profiles of deceased members, maybe you could put the date they passed away or something?

I was just thinking maybe it'd save some awkard moments in the "where are they now?" thread if people show up asking where deceased people are.

Just an idea

I kind of agree... It's kind of odd to say "Well.. They're deceased." And, possibly the retiring of Aliases would be a nice tribute as well. But, that's just my two cents.

It's only those who think they can't, that don't.

What Rask has done in the past when people on Chrome have passed were to simply not delete the account.

This way they show as a member and no one can take their exact alias.

He might be able to add something along the lines of a death notice in their profiles.. but it'll have to wait until he comes bback from the UK.

Next time you think you're perfect, try walking on the water..

When I read about GK's passing away, one of the first thoughts I had was to make a list of everyone who has passed away previously, so that I won't lose track of such things.

I'll think about the best way to go about this, but a memorial page would be a good idea to have in a community that's been around as long as ours.

On a similar note, I should also start a Chromehenge timeline page, as well.

Rask,

I like the idea of the timeline page, some of us older fogies can still remember how it started, I think.

But those awkward moments are the best thing about not being dead!

Although he was never a part of Chrome, Cobra will remember my cousin, Roland Self. He passed away spring of 2005. His wife, a year later.

I'm not insane, I'm not liquored up
I got nothing to do, nothing to lose
I got no place to call home

One thing's for sure, I'm all outta angst
Society don't bother me,
There's something wrong with that

I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. Which road do I take? she asked. Where do you want to go? was his response. I don't know, Alice answered. Then, said the cat, it doesn't matter.

Yeah. Dawn Lynn.

His wife took a good friend of mine with her.

It goes to show what happens when you put a 6 digit life insurance policy into the hands of a former heroin addict.

It's hard to be religious when certain people are never incinerated by bolts of lightning.

I didn't ever meet his wife. Roland and I drifted apart in the early 90's, and after around  95' or so, we didn't see each other again. I'm sorry about your friend though.

Maybe my mind's decieving me, but I think you took the easy way out, you left me standing there empty handed as soon as you put that gun in your mouth.
